The main character is Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), a smart defense lawyer who also teaches law to a group of intelligent students. Together they analyze different murder cases while uncovering several mysteries and revealing their own darkest secrets. Keating, for instance, learns that her husband has had an affair and she wonders if he is involved with the other woman’s disappearance. The series looks at murder from the perspectives of the killer, detectives, and witnesses. Each scenario is deeper than the last and as the show progresses the characters develop a closer bond.
