The boys volleyball team won in convincing fashion in a section matchup with Moon Township on Thursday.

The Highlanders swept Moon, 3-0, by the scores of 25-8, 25-6, and 25-23. It was a big victory for a team in the early season.

“We came out with a lot energy in the first two games and the only points they got were off of our mistakes. They couldn’t get much by us when we were on our game,” senior Jake Kemerer said.

A lot of new players got a chance to prove themselves in the lineup and gelled really well with the starters, showing how far the team’s chemistry has come since the beginning of the season.

“The coaching has been a major part to our team’s success. (Coach Milan Yekich) has kept us in line and got us working hard, and it’s really starting to show,” Kemerer said.

Sophomore Mason Hoydick and senior Russell Cyprowski played particularly well for Baldwin.

“Russell was playing well like he always does and Mason played one of his best games of the season,” Kemerer said.
