The varsity girls lacrosse team has been working hard in practice.

The girls lacrosse team lost 20-5 in an away game against Chartier Valley on Thursday night.

Baldwin’s goal scorers included Daryn Sleeman, Emily Rauch, Kaitlyn Pollard, and Enkela Syla.

Baldwin was missing crucial players, which threw off the team’s usual dynamic, senior Angelina Makhoul said.

“We were missing some of our really good girls because of cheer tryouts overlapping our game time,” Makhoul said.

The team needs to work on communication skills if they want to play better in the future, she said. This was the team’s second section game of the season.

“Defense really needs to talk to each other,” Makhoul said. “We also need to stop letting the score get in our heads.”

This season girls lacrosse only has one goalie, junior Christa Sucevich. Last season there were three, so more pressure is being put on Sucevich this year.

“It’s a ton of pressure, but she works really hard,” Makhoul said.
