After an impressive season, Baldwin’s ice hockey team lost Monday to Upper St. Clair in the quarterfinals of the Penguins Cup by a score of 6-2.

Sophomore Dylan Belak said Upper St. Clair had better puck control than Baldwin.

“We came out prepared, but USC came out harder and faster,” Belak said. “They moved the puck efficiently up and down the ice.”

Jason Kauvolic was one of the standouts in the loss.

“Jason worked hard as a leader every shift and had good puck management,” Belak said.

Sophomore Keith Reed and junior Noah Fischer scored the Highlanders’ two goals.

Even after the disappointing loss, the players are proud of how far they have come this season.

“It feels good coming this far as a sophomore, so I have two more years left to play,” Belak said.
