Three Baldwin wrestlers performed well at sections over the weekend and are on their way to WPIALs.

The wrestlers who are advancing are sophomore Abdullah Makhoul, senior Noah Bartic, and senior Connor Sidoruk.

“I was really surprised at myself and the guys this weekend,” Makhoul said.

The wrestlers each wrestled at least twice in sections.

“Once you lose a match, you are taken out of the bracket,” Makhoul said.

Makhoul has been working toward this moment in his wrestling career for six years.

“It’s just really nice to see that my hard work is paying off,” he said.

Makhoul plans on putting more effort in than he ever has to perform the best he possibly can in his WPIAL bracket.

“I hope to keep getting better, and possibly plan on wrestling in college,” he said.
