Students without a chance to go to the Baldwin Bean during first and second periods now have a chance to sample the coffee shop’s iced lattes in the cafeteria during lunch.

Food Service Director Joyce Weber explained that the shop wanted to give students who are unable to get drinks during their mornings a chance to try some of its products.

“We wanted to offer students a Baldwin Bean experience — the most popular beverage from the coffee shop,” Weber said in an email interview.

The cafeteria latte sales also will give Steel Center students, who are out of the building until fourth period, a chance to try the beverages.

“We were particularly concerned about the students who went to Steel Center,” Weber said. “They expressed their disappointment in not having the opportunity to access the coffee shop.”

The cafeteria staff will prepare the lattes for the lunch periods, due to the inability to open the coffee shop during lunch periods. The price for a latte will be the same as it is in the Bean, $1.75.

The cafeteria staff will feature a different flavor every week to give students an opportunity to try all of the flavors.
