The Baldwin girls basketball team will be heading into section play with a full head of steam after two impressive wins over the holiday break.

The Highlanders comfortably defeated Mohawk and Butler in a holiday tournament round robin.

“Our defense was the biggest takeaway from the games. We really picked up our defense and started communicating,” sophomore Anna Lucarelli said.

The girls basketball team will use these impressive statement wins — one a 28-point win over Mohawk and the other a 22-point win over Butler, as momentum heading into section play.

“We just have to believe, practice, and keep competing every day to be successful in section,” Lucarelli said.
