When students drove into the student parking lot after Thanksgiving break, they likely noticed something out of the ordinary.

The security booth between the band and student parking lots has been demolished.

“They took it out so there was more access for the parking lot areas,” Principal Dr. Walter Graves said.

The booth took up needed space in the middle of the entrance to the central lot, which created problems for larger vehicles.

“It restricted buses, tractor trailers and other vehicles for big events,” Graves said.

Graves said the extra space will help transitions between the lot and connecting roads.

“It will be paved over and allows for an easier flow of traffic,” Graves said.
