This week’s Big Brother finale had been highly anticipated, as this season was looked at as the best in a long time. But the finale was marred by a marriage proposal — one that featured a couple that had only been together for 23 days.

The “showmance” featured Swaggy C and Bayleigh, who collectively have been nicknamed “Swayleigh.” These two instantly connected early in the season and formed an alliance and a relationship.

The relationship was short-lived in the house, as Swaggy was evicted on Day 23, which meant he was a pre-juror and returned home. During his time out of the house, he visited Bayleigh’s family and practically moved in with them until the finale.

Bayleigh, however, was evicted on Day 51 and was the first member of the jury. This meant she would still be isolated from the the outside world living in another house called the jury house.

So from Day 23 until the finale, the couple did not see each other. Since Swaggy has known Bayleigh, he has spent more time with her parents than he has with her.

Yet, he felt that his love was so strong for this girl that he needed to propose to her, even though they only were together for 23 days. They were apart for a total of 76 days, more than three times as long they had been together.

They may actually love each other, but many think Swaggy just wanted to steal the finale and have all the attention on him. Throughout the time he was in the house, he was always in the middle of drama as he loved the attention, and it looks like that hasn’t changed.

Because of this proposal, Kaycee and Tyler, the final two, were cut short on their answers to the jury’s questions and their final speeches.

Usually the final two are given more time to plead their case for the jury, but they were cut short just to give Swaggy C his screen time for proposing to the girl he loves — whom he only has known for 23 days.

The finale is about crowning a winner of Big Brother and for this one in particular, to celebrate one of the best seasons fans have ever seen. The finale should not an opportunity to feed someone’s need for attention and to celebrate the love of two people who barely know each other.
