The Highlanders girls tennis team swept Chartiers Valley in a match Tuesday night.

“The team has been playing very well this season,” freshman Carly Kennard said.

Junior Una Banovic had a great day to help lead the Highlanders, Kennard said.

The team’s overall record is 7-2.

Junior Bethany Yauch and sophomore Emma Sukal started sectionals today, and will continue onto WPIALs on Thursday if they advance.

“The whole team is rooting for them,” Kennard said.

The girls are preparing for their match against Upper Saint Clair this Friday.
