The girls soccer team has had an up-and-down week, posting a big 13-0 win over Brashear over the weekend and taking a tough 6-0 loss to Canon Mac on Monday.

The games put the Highlanders at 1-2 within the section.

Junior Riley Nolan said the weekend win was fairly easy. Nolan was among the Highlanders who scored.

Nolan said that although the team did not get the result they wanted against Canon Mac, there were positives to take out of the game.

“We moved the ball well overall,” Nolan said. “We passed it well out of the back, which helped the whole team.”

With three games done in the section, the Highlanders will be looking for more wins. They look to do this with hustle and hard work.

“We need to get to the ball and win more 50-50s,” Nolan said. “If we play with everything we have, the results will come.”

The girls resume section play Wednesday night at home against Upper St. Clair.
