The Highlanders football team earned a decisive 34-7 win over visiting Fox Chapel on Friday, a big start for a team looking to rebound this year.

“It feels great to start off with a win and more to come,” senior Jaqwon Henderson-Parker said.

Senior wide receiver Dre Howell credited the win to the unity the team showed.

“Everybody was really working as a team,” Howell said

Senior lineman Elyon Phiri said the team deserved the win after a hard week of practice.

“Everything was working. Like Coach (Loran) Cooley says, a good week of practice makes a good game,” Phiri said.

The sparks behind the offense were junior running back Angelo Priore and junior quarterback Mason Stahl.

“The most effective plays for us were when Angelo and Mason ran it,” Howell said.

The Highlanders take on Butler (0-1) this Friday at home.
