Kanye reveals dark side on Ye

Mitch Davis, Staff Writer

After his controversial statements about slavery and in support of President Donald Trump, Kanye West has released his latest album, simply titled ye.

The seven-track album features frequent collaborator Kid Cudi, Ty Dolla Sign, PartyNextDoor, Jeremih, and other members of Kanye’s label, G.O.O.D. Music.

Kanye shows his dark side on ye, comparable to some of his work on the albums My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and The Life of Pablo.

This new album shows just how great of an artist Kanye is, with ye possibly being his darkest work yet.

“I Thought About Killing You” serves as the intro to the album, touching on subjects such as suicide and murder. However, the second track, “Yikes,” shows Kanye’s rapping abilities rather than R&B.

“Ghost Town”, the final song on ye, features Kid Cudi and gives the listeners a preview of what is to be expected from Kanye and Cudi’s upcoming album, Kids See Ghost.

This is a great, albeit short album, and includes some of Kanye’s best work ever.
