The softball team’s quest to win WPIALs came to an end on Wednesday, as the Highlanders  lost to Latrobe 2-0 in the semifinals.

Senior catcher Carly Santillo said the loss was disappointing.

“We played a great defensive game. We just didn’t have enough hits to be on top,” Santillo said.

Senior Taylor Dadig and Santillo were the only two to get hits throughout the game. Overall the team played well and Addie Tagg pitched really well, Santillo said.

“Our adjustments need to be quicker. That’s something we need to work on. But we all played a great defensive game. It is what it is,” Santillo said.

However, the team still has a chance to make it to states if they win the WPIAL consolation game.
