The boys baseball team looks to bounce back in their last week of the season after losing to Bethel Park on Friday, 8-4.

Bethel Park is the No. 1 seed in the Highlanders’ section, so Baldwin was expecting tough competition.

Senior Scott Meyer said the game was close but Bethel “hit really well and pulled away in the end.”

Meyer commended fellow senior Kory Tierney on his hitting during the game, which included a two-run home run. Senior Jordan Rush, junior Andy Sopata, and sophomore Nicky Dolan each played good games overall as well, Meyer said.

The Highlanders will finish their season with three home games this week, beginning with their Senior Rec night today versus Woodland Hills. Following today’s game the boys will face McKeesport on Tuesday and Keystone Oaks on Thursday.

Meyer said the team plans to “focus on timely hits and good defense” to defeat their upcoming competition.
