Girls softball came out on top against Canon Mac
April 23, 2018
The girls softball team faced off against Canon Mac on Saturday in another crucial section game that saw the Highlanders walk away with a 6-3 win.
Sophomore Cassie Carlson said that although the girls fell behind early, they kept fighting back.
“We were down for the first four innings and were shaky at first. After that we were able to tie down the defense,” Carlson said.
The Highlanders’ stiff defense was matched by some offensive power from juniors Salena Jaquay and Chy Shandor. Jaquay was two for three batting and Shandor hit the go-ahead RBI that sealed the deal.
“The second go around the batting order was much better,” Carlson said.
The Highlanders’’ section record is now 4-1 with another section game against Mt. Lebanon today.
