The boys baseball team picked up a big victory over Mt. Lebanon on Thursday night, pulling off a 7-6 win in the final at bat.

“We hit better than we have all year. It was the first time we scored more than three runs,” sophomore Bryce Chapla said.

The game was close until the very end, when Baldwin scored at the bottom of the seventh inning. Senior Trey Luffy knocked in the game-winning run.

This was the first time the team had beaten Mt. Lebanon in recent memory, as none of the current players or coaches were around the last time that the Highlanders beat the Blue Devils.

The team played really well together, said Chapla, and they are now looking toward their next opponent. Their next game will be Saturday against Peters Township at home.

“We have a lot of momentum,” Chapla said.
