Although Baldwin’s baseball team lost against Canon-Mac Tuesday night, team members said they saw positive changes, giving them hope for the rest of the season.

While the Highlanders lost 4-2, sophomore Bryce Chapla said the team did well considering Canon-Mac’s strong record.

“Last night is when the team finally clicked. We worked together very well as a team and our fielding overall really improved. This was our best game of the season so far,” Chapla said.

However, the team struggled to get runs against Canon-Mac’s pitchers. This is something the team hopes to improve for its upcoming games.

Junior Andy Sopata pitched well, Chapla said.

“He let a few runs go, but his pitching was still really strong,” Chapla said.

Chapla said if the team’s momentum continues, the Highlanders will see good results.

The team hopes to use the positives seen in this game to get their first win at Thursday’s home game against Mt. Lebanon.
