Baldwin boys lacrosse opened its season Monday with a 10-7 loss to non-section opponent Hempfield.

Sophomore Zach Pettit believes the team saw both positives and things to fix.

“We need to come out of the gate strong and play hard in the first half,” Pettit said.

Pettit said the second half was the strong point of game for the Highlanders and something they need to continue.

“We played more like a team in the second half. We communicated well and played all-around good lacrosse,” Pettit said.

Jason Kavulic played well during the game and was one of the strongest players during the night, Pettit said.

The Highlanders’ next game is Thursday against Gateway at home.
