Nine Baldwin students have passed the certified nursing assistant test at Steel Center, which qualifies them to help patients with health care needs under supervision of a certified nurse.

The students are seniors Sita Adhikari, Kayla Bochter, Leila Crawford, John Dickson, Bhim Ghimirey, Bria Mamula, Maria Perallo, Annie Tarley, and Austin Rust.

Rust believes the preparation for this certification will end up helping him in his future career.

“We had to do 54 hours of service at nursing homes to learn how to do certain things that we will need in our futures,” Rust said.

The certificate can help the students get a job in a hospital right after graduating Baldwin, which Rust plans to do.

“My plan is to go and work at a hospital as soon as I get out of school. I am trying to work at a hospital like Jefferson or Mercy,” Rust said.
