Why Ross Mathews will win Celebrity Big Brother

Austin Bechtold, Staff Writer

With the Celebrity Big Brother season coming to a close on Sunday, seven houseguests remain in the fight for $250,000.

Brandi Glanville, Ariadna Gutierrez, James Maslow, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Mark McGrath, Omarosa Manigault, and Ross Mathews remain out of the 11 original celebrities on the cast.

With the season coming to a close, many have wondered who has the best chance to win the first season of Celebrity Big Brother.

My pick: TV personality Ross Mathews.

Mathews is tied with Maslow as the winners of the most competitions out of everyone, with two. Mathews also has a strong alliance with the majority of the house, so if his side comes to power, they can easily take out the remaining competition.

He also has the advantage of not having to fear going on the block this week with Manigault not eligible. Manigault won Head of Household last week and targeted Mathews, but competitors cannot be HOH in back-to-back weeks until the final two HOH competitions.

Most important of all, Mathews has a strong social game, which should lead to numerous jury votes in the end. After Metta World Peace was evicted on Monday, he explained to host Julie Chen how he thinks Mathews will win and told her that Mathews will receive his vote in the end.

The season is far from over, with a double eviction looming on Friday and three more houseguests being evicted before a winner is crowned in the two-hour season finale Sunday night.

Big Brother always tells houseguests and fans to “expect the unexpected,” but fans of the show should expect that Ross Mathews in the end will come out on top.
