The Baldwin girls swim team defeated Thomas Jefferson Tuesday night.

The girls were led by seniors Kaliegh Varney and Jordan Fediaczko, freshman Nicole Kosco said.

“We wanted this win, because we only have two more meets left,” Kosco said.

Varney, Fediaczko, Kosco, and freshman Leah Rebo compete as Baldwin’s 200 freestyle relay team. They are making a final push to earn a qualification time for WPIALs.

“We’ve been really close to qualification,” Varney said.

While the boys team lost on Tuesday, some swimmers continued their strong individual seasons, sophomore Joey Weber said. These include freshman Dylan Stokes, sophomore Corey Geyer, and senior Vinnie Teahan.

“We aren’t doing well, but some guys are still standing out,” Weber said.
