The girls basketball team lost its first two games of the season on Friday and Saturday against Elizabeth Forward and South Park.

Saturday’s game against South Park ended in a buzzer-beater, resulting in Baldwin losing by one point.

Despite the losses to start the season, freshman Anna Lucarelli still believes the team performed well.

“In both games our team did a great job with our effort, staying positive, and always hustling,” Lucarelli said.

Lucarelli said senior Abbey Larkin stood out in both games with her ability to drive to the hoop and her shooting from the 3-point arc.

“There is always room to improve,” Lucarelli said. “I think we can do a better job with setting up our offense, but that will come further into the year,” Lucarelli said.

Baldwin’s next game is Tuesday at McKeesport at 7:30 p.m.
