After a season of proving the doubters wrong, the girls volleyball takes on Plum tonight in its first round playoff matchup at home.

The Highlanders posted an 11-1 section record and they are in search for their fourth straight WPIAL championship appearance.

The team looks to carry the same focus from the regular season into the playoffs.

“We need to outwork Plum and maintain our focus. Also we cannot look past them or underestimate the team,” junior Mackenzie Meis said.

The girls hope to carry a simple game plan to take down Plum.

“We have to go point by point and we need play tough and not let them get into our heads,” Meis said.

Overall the team needs to work together throughout the game, Meis said.

“Our defense needs to play tough as well as our outside hitters need to put the ball away to be able to win,” Meis said.

The Highlander’s hope for a win and hope to see a large crowd, Meis said.
