The girls volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season against Peters Township on Thursday night.

The girls were swept in straight sets, which ended the team’s seven-game win streak that started the season.

Sophomore setter Mia Hampsay blamed the loss on the team’s unusual lack of communication.

“We weren’t our normal selves and didn’t talk as much as we normally do,” Hampsay said.

The Highlanders on Tuesday will take on Upper St Clair for a second time this season, as they attempt to maintain their lead of the section. The theme will be a “pink out” to kick off breast cancer awareness month.

“We can’t dwell on the past. We have to keep moving forward and not let one game get us off track on our quest for a section title,” Hampsay said.
