Wonder Woman exceeds expectations

Wonder Woman exceeds expectations

It has finally happened, Hollywood made a good, arguably great, female superhero movie.

There are a lot of factors that contributed to Wonder Woman being a success. The first is that there is a plot in this movie that makes sense, Diana must find a way to end WWI by killing Ares. The plot is simple but the characters, Diana, Steve Trevor, Charlie, etc., bring life to it and the film itself. They also add depth and a healthy dose of comedy to the movie that the audience wasn’t expecting.

The film contains a lot of action, and all of it is good. While credit does go to actors and stunt doubles, their efforts looked incredible due to all the different camera angles used. The camera team also used slow motion to emphasize certain moves in fight scenes.

Wonder Woman wasn’t sexualized due to her costume but instead it was used for comic purposes and cultural clashes between Amazons and Europeans. It’s also great that all characters had skill sets that were useful and showcased besides Diana.

One flaw with the film is that Diana’s mortality isn’t properly explained until the end of the film. While it is understandable, the decision creates less importance in fights since the audience doesn’t know what risks she takes when fighting.

Overall, it doesn’t matter if the film deserves a chance by the skeptical because many believe it to be great.
