Many people remember growing up watching Bill Nye the Science Guy, and so it is a pleasant surprise that Bill Nye has come out with a new series, Bill Nye Saves the World.

The new series picks up with present-day issues and addresses the same people who grew up watching his original show. There are some quality humorous pieces and some that seem forced, but end up bringing some joy due to how hard Nye seems to be trying to get some laughs.

This shows does not so much pick specific political points of view, but rather it just addresses the issues the people face from a scientific standpoint.

A typical episode opens with Nye addressing the science at hand and then opening discussion with a panel of experts on the topics at hand, such as GMOs, Artificial intelligence, and other hot scientific topics.

Nye often uses small-scale experiments to demonstrate the points he is trying to make. He shows what the misconceptions are and why people should change their inherent beliefs. He often gives merit to both sides.

Overall this new show is worth watching because it gives a good basic knowledge of big issues and provides some comedic relief throughout to keep the audience entertained, even though sometimes Nye tries a bit too hard.
