Sometimes, artists experiment with many different sounds and styles in attempt to suit many different listeners’ tastes. Most of the time, these efforts fail miserably. Tracks are usually a scrambled mess with the sad fans of the artist being left to pick up the pieces, but fortunately artist Gnash has revitalized the idea of mixing different genres of music onto his newest album, Us. The album opens with a cover of “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes. The beautiful duet featuring Goody Grace is the purest song on the album, fit for all of the acoustic lovers out there. Then comes “Rumours” featuring Mark Johns, which is more of an intimate song for rap/R&B fans. The rest of the album features more guest artists and covers different genres such as alternative and pop ballads. The only downside to the album is that not every song is for everyone, but finding those one or two songs to love can make it worth the buy.
