The WPIAL softball semifinal game today features a rematch from last year’s game, with Baldwin facing off against Latrobe at California University of Pennsylvania.

Senior Katie Knezevich said the Highlanders have been working hard on their defense to win tonight’s game.

“If we play like we did at the first playoff, we’ll win,” Knezevich said.

After earning a bye in the first round, Baldwin defeated Shaler 6-1 in the second round of WPIALs. That came after the Highlanders had ended the regular season with a win that gave them a share of the section championship.

Today’s game is memorable for the seniors because it gives them a chance to reach WPIAL finals in their last year.

“It would be a dream come true if we won WPIAL championships,” Knezevich said.
