Proceeds from yoga class to benefit eating disorder association

Senior Alana Martucci and her mother, Lori, will host a benefit yoga class in the school’s atrium on March 2.
The event will be held during the National Eating Disorder Awareness week and all of the proceeds will benefit the National Eating Disorders Association.
“We’re really excited for the opportunity to do something for such a great cause,” Martucci said.
Senior Natalie Weida proposed the idea as a project for the National Honor Society, and then contacted Martucci, who has been teaching yoga as a certified instructor for over a year.
Martucci was happy to oblige since her mother’s studio, The Hott Spot in Bridgeville, hosts charity classes every month through a random raffle process.
“It’s really exciting to bring yoga to Baldwin,” Martucci said.
Participants are being asked to bring a yoga mat and bottle of water, with a suggested donation of $10.
