Senior volleyball standout Maddi Sgattoni made it official on Wednesday, accepting an offer from the Naval Academy on national signing day.

In addition to the academy’s volleyball program, Sgattoni said she was drawn to the school due to its engineering program.

As with all Naval Academy students, Sgattoni will attend school for free. The Navy covers all costs of education.

Sgattoni will be attending a six-week boot camp starting June 27 in preparation for her education.

“This will be the biggest challenge I’ll have to overcome,” Sgattoni said. “This is probably the highest that I could ever challenge myself.”
