The boys basketball team scored a key section victory on Friday, beating Peters Township, 72-59.

Three players scored more than 15 points: senior Anthony Reid and juniors Nick Fiumara and Mike Goga.

“Mike had a bunch of offensive rebounds which helped him get a double-double,” sophomore Johnny Staley said.

This was the second time the Highlanders played Peters this season. Peters won the first game.

“This time around we executed our game plan better and had more energy, knowing we lost to them before,” Staley said.

The team is 6-2 in the section going into their game Tuesday against Upper Saint Clair.

“We can’t let their press defense get to us. If we break it, we can win,” Staley said.
