Kendrick Lamar an underground rapper known worldwide works with Ab-Soul

Everyone has heard Top Dawg Entertainment front man Kendrick Lamar’s new album. Now his less mainstream label mate Ab-Soul just dropped his fourth album called Do What Thou Wilt.

At the beginning of 2016, TDE released a statement saying that there would be six albums released throughout the year.

Of the six, 5 released were from artist Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Lance Skiiiwalker, and Isaiah Rashad with Ab-Soul being the 5th and final drop of the year.

Over the past few years, Kendrick Lamar has been in top of the semi-mainstream rap community. He has songs on the radio and is known worldwide but still behaves for the most part like an underground rapper.

Rapper Schoolboy Q has also been on the rise since the release of his Blank Face album that was released mid-2016. He just finished his worldwide tour.

While Kendrick and Schoolboy Q are more commonly, known Ab-Soul has remained underground for the most part when it comes to his music.

He has had tours go through Europe and even Japan but is not very well known to mainstream listeners.

If the pattern continues as it has for the last few years, Ab-Soul and his more low-key label mates such as Isaiah Rashad, SZA and Lance Skiiiwalker will be gaining more hype as the year goes on.

Things are looking that way for Ab-Soul, who has been preforming at festivals and has had a steady flow of shows for the last two three years.
