Two Baldwin wrestlers took first in their weight classes at the Allegheny County wrestling tournament on Saturday.
Senior Amir Muhammad came in first place in the 113-pound weight class out of 23 wrestlers from schools across the county.
Muhammad won his final match 13-1 but said that one was the hardest.
“I had to be patient with my shots, be strategic, and be smart,” Muhammad said.
Junior Gehrig Hutchinson came in first place in the 170-pound weight class out of 21 wrestlers. The score of the final match was 4-2.
Muhammad said Hutchinson was strong throughout the tourney.
“He was aggressive, calm, and never panicked throughout the match,” Muhammad said.
The team’s next match is next Tuesday against Keystone Oaks.
