The boys basketball team picked up a huge section win Tuesday night over Mount Lebanon 51-45.

The hard-fought win put the Highlanders in a tie for top of the section with Peters Township, a team that beat Baldwin earlier in the season.

“It feels good to be at the top of the section,” senior Carlos Ramirez said.

The team used its emphasis on defense to earn the win, carrying only a two-point lead during the third quarter.

“We knew coming into the season our defense would be strong,” Ramirez said. “It definitely helped us get that win.”

He also said the team moved the ball well.

“It was a good game. No one was selfish,” Ramirez said.

The team’s next game is against Canon-Mac at home Friday night.
