Reid’s big night leads team to win against USC
January 9, 2017
The boys basketball team’s blowout 69- 36 win over Upper St. Clair on Friday was due in large part to a great performance from senior Anthony Reid.
The games’ opening 19 points were all scored by Reid — not just Baldwin points but overall. He also ended the game with 42 points, including 11 three-pointers.
“I did what I usually do — score,” Reid said.
He said that while the game impressed those in attendance, it was just an ordinary game.
“It wasn’t really that special to me,” Reid said. “I’m just glad we won.”
Athletic Director Vince Sortino said that Reid’s scoring was extraordinary, although every player played to their own strengths.
“It is what makes them strong as a team,” Sortino said.
Sortino said Reid’s 42 points and 11 three-pointers where the highest totals for any Baldwin boys basketball player in 25 years.
“Every athlete dreams of having a game like he did on Friday night,” Sortino said.
