Both the boys and girls swimming teams won on Tuesday against Carrick, and senior diver Erin Ferrari qualified for WPIALs at the meet. This is the fourth year that she has qualified for WPIALs.

“All of the seniors want to do well since it’s our last season,” Ferrari said.

Other members of the team are close to getting qualified for WPIALs.

“Hailey Guzzi, Liam Watterson, and Jake Fowler are also close to qualifying” Ferrari said. “We also hope to have a couple of relay teams get qualified by the end of the season.”

Junior Justin Hackman was a standout team member at the meet Tuesday.

“He got his best time this year in the 100 freestyle and dropped six seconds from his time,” Watterson said.

The team has a tough season ahead but wants to succeed.

“We started off against easier teams, but we’re against tougher teams like Bethel Park and Mount Lebanon in the future,” Ferrari said.

Their next meet is on Thursday against Seton La Salle.
