The girls volleyball team completed a huge week by sweeping Mt. Lebanon, 3-0, on Thursday.

This win was the girls’ second win this week against teams that they had previously lost to. Earlier in the week the girls beat Upper St. Clair.

“We were down 23-17 in the third game. Then we came back to win 28-26,” senior Sydney Kaercher said.

Key players were freshman Mia Hampsay, senior Maddi Sgattoni, and senior Abby Wagner, Kaercher said.

“Maddi was aggressive on the net, Abby got a touch on everything, and Mia played well on defense,” she said.

“We are now tied with Peters for second place, which will give us a better position for playoffs. This game helped to keep us motivated for our upcoming games,” Kaercher said.

The girls’ next game is Tuesday versus Canon-Mac.

“We are focused on working together as a team going into this game,” Kaercher said.

Next Thursday’s game against Armstrong will be the girls “Dig Pink” game to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
