Movie Review: Captain America: Civil War
May 19, 2016
Captain America: Civil War revolves around a conflict that is both worthy of a superhero battle and able to keep the audience invested from start to finish. The Avengers are divided in their opinions of the Sokovia Accords, which would have a United Nations panel running the team. The team splits into two factions: Captain America, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, the Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, Agent 13, and Falcon are on one side, while the other side consists of Iron Man, Vision, Black Panther, War Machine, Black Widow, and Spiderman. The action in the film is both flowing and fast-paced, with blasts of comedic moments in parts. Yet the action never takes away from either the plot, which seems simple but contains complexities, or the emotional scenes in the film. There are only two minor flaws: Thor and the Hulk, two key Avengers, are not included, and this battle isn’t really Spiderman’s or Ant-Man’s fight, although they are so enjoyable in the film that the audience doesn’t care. Overall, Captain America: Civil War is an amazing film and everyone should choose a side and go root for it in theaters.
