Advanced studio art students will be participating in a well-known New York City art fundraiser, Invite, to raise money to fight AIDS.
Students have been working on notecard-sized art pieces that they will send off to New York City today.
This exhibition will include both famous artists and emerging artists, and the art that is submitted has the name on the back where buyers cannot see.
“This is a night where the whole New York City art scene comes together. You don’t know whose art you’re buying until you turn the card over,” art teacher James Woderak said.
Woderak previously has attended the exhibit, and he offered to showcase Pittsburgh artists, including students like junior Natasha Yeso.
“I’m excited but also sad because I won’t see it again. I’m very proud of it and I wonder where it will end up,” Yeso said of her art.
