New Politics is a Danish band whose style is categorized as alternative rock and pop punk. They formed in 2009, but their most popular song has only 5 million views on Youtube. Their newest album, Vikings, has more of a pop vibe than their previous style. New Politics has songs for any mood, such as “Pretend We’re In a Movie,” which is more peppy and carefree for getting over an old relationship by finding someone new. More importantly, they have a song for when that relationship hits a rough patch called “Stardust.” While they are singing “now I’m just enough but you need everything / It’s all a blur we’re clearly fading baby,” it is a perfect time to reflect on all parts of the relationship. Overall, New Politics is a band that deserves more credit and after listening to Vikings any music lover is sure to get hooked.
