Cherry Bomb by Tyler, The Creator, is a work that cannot be defined by just one genre of music. The album starts out with the song “Deathcamp,” and from the beginning listeners can tell that this rapper is experimenting with a number of instruments, as electric guitars are strummed wildly in the background and are accompanied by Tyler speaking with a synthesized voice. Later he introduces an R&B/soul feel to his songs, such as “Find Your Wings,” “Perfect,” and “Okaga, Ca.” This approach helps balance the chaotic feel on the album. By far one of the best songs on the album, “Smuckers,” features Kanye West and Lil Wayne. Tyler comes up with his best verse on the record for this song, which lyrically is similar to his songs on his previous album, Wolf.
