Baldwin High School soon will be hosting its first EdCampPGH, a discussion forum for people who want to share new ideas about education.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is the fourth such event to be held in the region, and there is no admission fee.
“The idea of this is to make it an ‘un-conference,’ ” coordinator Dr. Daniel Harrold said. “We want this to be more open to the public compared to the standard educational conference.”
There is no set schedule. People who wish to speak are asked to show up on the day of the event and sign up to take a time slot to share their ideas. Students are asked to come to the event and share their ideas as well.
“We know there are people here with good ideas and we want to share them,” Harrold said.
