The Baldwin ice hockey team lost 5-2 to Bishop McCort on Tuesday night.
Bishop McCort played well offensively against Baldwin.
“We have to be stronger in the defensive zone,” senior Mack Dempsey said.
Meanwhile, on offense, the Highlanders were able to make shots on the net, but not necessarily score.
“Our team had a lot of shots on net,” senior Nathan Buys said. “We just need to be able to score on the chances we get.”
Dempsey complimented his team on the game despite the loss.
“We are starting to settle down and get more chances on the power play,” he said.
Dempsey applauded Buys as a standout player for Baldwin.
“I think Nate really worked hard and created chances,” he said.
Dempsey hopes the team is able to have a successful rest of the season.
“I hope we can string some wins together and secure a spot in playoffs,” he said.
Buys said he looks forward to what his role as a senior on the team will entail this season.
“I’m excited to lead the young guys on the team and teach them how to win,” Buys said.
Though Baldwin might not have won, Buys enjoyed playing the game.
“It was a fun game and very intense the whole way through,” Buys said.
