Baldwin’s Marvel Rival esports team defeated Central Cambria on Thursday, 2-0.
The Marvel Rival game is a 6v6 shooter game, where Marvel characters are teamed up to take out the other team in a best of three competition.
Senior Laeth Salih was one of the six to compete against Cambria. He said the victory came from Baldwin’s unity and teamwork.
“For our team, we all stayed grouped, and if there was something going on elsewhere, we all moved as a team,” Salih said.
Senior Zachary Czapko did well, senior Braydon Parker said. He was very active and kept the group together during the match.
Although they won, team members still reflected on areas for improvement for future matches.
“Communication is always the biggest one,” Parker said. “We always need to talk more.”
Salih thinks communication is good so far for the Highlanders, but also believes there is room for improvement.
“There is always stuff to work on. Even though communication is good, it could always be better. But realistically I just want to work on versatility and being able to adapt to whoever we are playing against,” Salih said.
Their next match is this Thursday against DuBois Area High School.
