Senior Addison Hirt’s most memorable soccer moment happened in her first year of high school soccer.
“One of my proudest moments was scoring against Mt. Lebo my freshman year. It was the only time I started on varsity that year, and being able to step up in that moment gave me so much confidence,” Hirt said.
Hirt started playing soccer when she was 4 years old, influenced by her parents to play.
As she has continued to play, she is motivated by friends, family, and most importantly, her love for the game.
“What motivates me to play is my love for the game and wanting to get better every day. I also play for my teammates. I want to give my best effort so we can succeed together,” Hirt said.
Hirt is big about being a team player because she is a varsity captain for the team.
“I want my teammates to feel supported in and out of soccer, because when we’re confident and united, we play our best soccer,” Hirt said.
Throughout her high school career, Hirt has been playing consistent minutes as a forward. Her main goal is to look to score, capitalize on passes, and make good runs to help the team succeed offensively.
Hirt is a role model for the girls on the soccer team, as her perseverance through the season inspires others.
“She handles setbacks or times in the game when the team is down or losing. She keeps going; she doesn’t get down on herself or others,” junior Morgan Leaf said. “She keeps playing her game and always tries her hardest, no matter how hard the game is or the score is.”
Hirt makes sure to stay positive and boost team morale even through tough games. She believes it is her priority to pick up teammates when they are doubting themselves.
“Any time we score, even if it’s not Addison, she always runs up to them and hugs them and gets very excited,” senior Olivia Page said.
Sophomore Tenley Fry describes Hirt as someone who is always positive and full of energy on and off the field.
“Addison is a teammate who is always there to support people on and off the field,” Fry said. “Her impact on the team has been her ability to keep her energy up on the field, helping to keep everyone on the team’s energy up also.
Although Hirt doesn’t want to continue her soccer career into college, it has been a big part of her life leading up to her senior year.
