The boys soccer team was defeated 7-0 by Moon on Tuesday.
Junior goalkeeper Elijah Schuchert said Moon did well in picking apart Baldwin’s defense.
“They did well at possessing the ball and taking advantage of the space we gave them,” Schuchert said.
Even after a discouraging loss, Baldwin had some hopeful moments throughout the game.
“Our clearances up the field were strong and gave us time to settle the pace of play,” Schuchert said.
Moving into the future, Schuchert believes the team can do better. He sees a lot of room for improvement and hopes to use it to better himself and his team.
“We could’ve stepped to the ball more instead of giving the players space,” he said.
He acknowledged his responsibility as a goalie and believes in his ability to help his team in the future. Even though he is happy with his performance from this game, he knows he needs to continue improving.
“I did everything I could in net to keep the score as low as possible while trying to make multiple great saves,” he said. “I will keep putting in work at practice to hopefully gain more clean sheets to help our team win.”
Baldwin will next be traveling to Montour to play them at 4:30 p.m. today.
