Silksong, a sequel to the video game Hollow Night that has been anticipated for the last seven years, has finally been released, and it was worth waiting for.
In Silksong, produced by Team Cherry, players play as Hornet, one of the side characters from the original Hollow Knight game. Hornet had a significant role in the first game, originally going up against The Knight, who was the main protagonist, before helping him out.
The story for Silksong takes place after the first game and continues the story with Hornet being captured and taken to a kingdom called Pharloom. Players go through this kingdom and discover its secrets, create new allies, and seek new lands within the kingdom.
The game has other characters whom players are able to speak to and buy much needed equipment to make Hornet stronger. They are also entirely different from the NPCs from the first game.
Silksong has significantly better animation than Hollow Knight, and the gameplay is different. Hornet is much more agile and has a different playstyle compared to The Knight, who is not as agile. The same goes for the enemies and bosses.
However, what players might not like about the game is that it’s much more difficult than Hollow Knight, as the enemies can hit more than once, and they are much more ruthless.
The story behind Pharloom isn’t given to players. They have to learn what it is through exploration, talking to other characters, and interacting with the objects players find.
Silksong is worth it in the end, especially if new players are looking for an affordable game that has decent gameplay. For players who have been waiting for seven years, it’s definitely worth it.
