The Baldwin girls soccer team lost to Mt. Lebanon on Saturday, 5-0.
Junior Gianna Harkins said Lebo did well passing through the middle.
“They did pretty well passing through the middle and had pretty good foot skills,” Harkins said.
Harkins credited Baldwin for staying in the game.
“We were utilizing our speed and were trying to catch up to them,” she said. “Any chance we got, we were trying to score.”
Senior Daytona Hissong agreed with Harkins.
“We did well continuing to pressure the other team,” Hissong said.
Hissong credited junior Morgan Leaf for standing out for Baldwin.
“Morgan was able to defend really well,” Hissong said. “She was stopping their players and getting the ball out of the box during crucial moments.”
Harkins agreed, and also said senior Addison Hirt stood out for the team.
“Morgan was giving good efforts out there when our energy was low,” Harkins said. “Addison was working well up top and took every opportunity that she could.”
Harkins reflected on how the team needs to improve.
“I hope that we can get our positive energy up,” Harkins said. “I would also say that we need to improve on stepping to the ball and getting it into play.”
The team’s next game is away at Connellsville on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
