Diners looking for authentic Japanese cuisine, and some of the best sushi and Japanese food in the Pittsburgh area, should go to Pho Kim 88 on Library Road. It has a modernized Japanese-American look to it, but they have a variety of sushi and sushi platters. Although it is a bit expensive, it is worth it. The smoked salmon is full of flavor and quite delicious. One of their signature sushi rolls, called the Royce’s roll, is a spicy crab, shrimp and avocado roll. It is one of the best things on the sushi menu. Their octopus sushi and their eel sushi rolls are also great. The menu also includes crab and red snapper sushi, as well as several other signature dishes. Overall this is some of the best sushi and Japanese food in the area. While some other sushi places in Pittsburgh offer bland, tasteless sushi, Pho Kim distinguishes itself with food that is flavorful and satisfying. Also, the service is good. The waitresses are very helpful in suggesting which sushi platters are the most appetizing.
